![]() Working in The Closet
I work in the five sided closet,
Five quiet walls where no one tells,
No one asks for fear of the answer,
No one dares to question the system.
You can walk the miles of corridors for years
Without ever finding someone who admits to queer.
I work in the pixeled world of dark and light
Where everything is image and people only numbers
To downsize or expand. Nothing is what it seems.
I slip slowly towards myself, inch by inch,
Hair by hair so to speak, towards the moment
When no one can deny who I am or where I've been.
